The Story: Tuesdays with Morrie is the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life.
About the director: Patricia Thom, President of the Stage One Board of Directors, is a Senior Lecturer in the Communication and Theatre Arts Department at UW-Rock County in Janesville. She has been active in local theatre for nearly 50 years and was one of the founding members of Stage One in 1980. Pat has directed for UW-Rock County, Stage One, Janesville Little Theatre, and Madison College including plays such as Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf; The Foreigner; Ah, Wilderness; Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean; True West; Talking With; and Lone Star.
